Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, the Ambassador and staff members of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Havana visited the Che Guevara’s Center today, 21st November 2024, and met the Director Mrs. Aleida March, the spouse of Che Guevara and Mrs. Aleida Guevara, daughter.
Mr. Claudio Monzón, Deputy Director of Asia from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, and the specialist of Asia also attended the courtesy visit.
The Ambassador, on behalf of the people and Government of Sri Laka, donated the book “Young Ché” written by Ernesto Lynch, Ché’s father, and translated into Singhalese by Mr. Samarasinghe Gunasekara.
The donation of the book represents the strong ties of friendship and solidarity with the Cuban people.
The spouse of Ché Guevara presented two books on Ché Guevara to the Ambassador.
Ché Guevara was the First Envoy of Cuba to visit Sri Lanka in 1959 after Sri Lanka officially recognized the revolutionary Government.
