H.E. the Ambassador presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Republic of Honduras, H.E. Xiomara Castro last year. According to a proposal made by President of Honduras, GOSL agreed to appoint Mr. Daniel Fortin, President of Chamber of Commerce of Honduras as Sri Lanka ‘s Honorary Consul. During the tour he also met with Foreign Secretary and discussed the matters related to bilateral cooperation.

H.E. the Ambassador presented his Letter of Credence to H.E. Mr. Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic last year, and discussed important areas of bilateral relations. In addition, several initiatives were taken to promote bilateral trade during his meeting with the President of the Chamber of Commerce. Arrangments were made to appoint an Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka to look after Sri Lanka´s interest in the Dominican Republic.

H.E. the Ambassador presented his Letter of Credence in San Salvador city, El Salvador last year. During the visit, he was able to meet with key officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to identify a suitable candidate for the post of Sri Lanka´s Honorary Consul in El Salvador who can promote Sri Lanka´s interests, especially economic interests.

Last year the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Cuba presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Panama in Panama City. During the visit, he was able to initiate trade relations with the Panamanian Chamber of Commerce. Further, he selected a suitable candidate for the post of Sri Lanka’s Honorary Consul in Panama who can look after Sri Lanka’s interests there. His meeting with Foreign Ministry officials strengthened bilateral political relations between the two countries.
